A pivotal milestone is just around the corner …

Hi there,

It’s Sarah here, founder of denu.

2022 signifies 15 years since I launched my business. From an idea in my head (born in a hotel bathtub, no less) to a wild journey that has seen this modest brand as the preferred Hand Wash supplier in some of the finest establishments, restaurants, art galleries and boutiques across the country…

When I think back; 15 years ago, I travelled for my job and was never satisfied with the hotel bathroom amenities. 15 years ago, I took a leap of faith and became a business owner without any prior experience. 15 years ago, very few brands led with an environmental focus. 15 years ago, there was no such thing as Instagram. 15 years ago, my beautiful daughter did not exist yet! 15 years ago, almost everything was different. And yet, some things never change. 15 years ago, I was obsessed with essential oils and how aromatherapy makes people feel. 15 years ago, I believed scent has such a strong connection to our emotional wellbeing. 15 years ago, I knew denu was going to exist to nurture, nourish, and create beautiful moments. As it turns out, my intentions have been unwavering.

I started denu as a for-purpose business. It’s always been aligned with my personal values: Health. Connection. Generosity. Self-respect. Personal development. Integrity.

As I write this, I’m feeling immensely proud of denu for pioneering ethical business from the beginning. We source locally, use recycled and recyclable bottles, intentionally avoid overpackaging and we continue to be Australian owned and manufactured. We’ve been able to donate to local charities close to our hearts, and establish our beautiful and loyal community too.

I’m currently sitting in my new warehouse space, quietly reflecting on denu’s formative years with not only nostalgia, but excitement!

To officially mark denu turning 15 this year, we are in the process of a beautiful brand refresh. My intention is for denu to always be a special part of your day, and that means refining every single moment you share with us.

To old friends and new, thank you for being on this journey with me. I’ll be dropping you a line each month to share stories, learnings and inspirations. Stay tuned.
